FOR COMPANIES INTERESTED IN CREATING A PODCAST:
A podcast for your business can be a powerful thing. Not only can it deliver value to your audience like other marketing channels, but it gives people a more engaging and personalized way to learn about you and your team. The more potential customers know about you, your expertise, and what you care about, then the more they will trust, respect, and eventually, want to buy from you.
To get your podcast aspirations off the ground, I will take you through a three-phase process:
1. Podcast Opportunity Assessment
Your podcast will be a part of your marketing, so the goal in this phase will be to understand your current marketing processes, strategies, and goals, and to determine how a podcast could fit into your marketing mix. At the end of this phase, you will receive an Opportunity Assessment Report that details what we uncovered and what marketing strategy and process requirements should be fulfilled before creating a podcast. The document will also contain initial recommendations on the kind of podcast that could help you pursue your business goals.
2. Podcast Definition Workshop
After mapping out how you currently market, and how a podcast could fit into what you currently do, then we define your podcast and position it against all the competitors in your space. At the end of this phase, you will receive a Podcast Overview and Initial Launch Plan document. This document will highlight your podcast’s brand guidelines (i.e. Mission, Vision, Style, Format), along with other podcast details. The document will also lay out the Pilot Development Process for 1-3 pilot episodes, along with a preliminary launch schedule.
3. Podcast Pilot Development
After defining the kind of podcast you want, we’ll move on to the fun stuff and start creating some pilot episodes. These are the first few episodes that allow us to hear what the podcast will sound like, while we also test and iterate on the production process. At the end of this phase, you’ll have 1-3 podcast episodes, a revised Podcast Launch Plan and production schedule, and a budget for production fees moving forward.
